Welcome, International Students — The Registration Process for International Students of Spring 2025 at GCC Successfully Concluded

On March 7th, 2025, Guangzhou College of Commerce welcomed over 60 international students from 9 countries. The registration work for international students in the 2025 spring semester has successfully concluded. The students who registered this semester include short-term Chinese language learners and exchange students. With enthusiasm for learning Chinese and a keen interest in Chinese culture, they will embark on a one-semester learning journey at Guangzhou College of Commerce.

To ensure the smooth progress of the registration work for international freshmen in the 2025 spring semester, GCC made meticulous plans and arrangements beforehand. Related departments carefully organized and cooperated to provide efficient and convenient enrollment services for international students. On the day of registration, the school set up a pickup station at the airport and arranged teachers and volunteers to provide guidance and assistance to new students. At the registration site, the school staff orderly handled various affairs for the students, including student status confirmation, insurance purchase, campus card issuance, and SIM card processing. Student volunteers patiently answered the questions of international students and assisted them with luggage carrying and dormitory check-in.

On the morning of the same day, a delegation of college leaders visited the international student registration site. They greeted the international students who were in the process of registering, extended sincere greetings to volunteers and staff, and inquired in detail about the registration of international students, apartment arrangements, and logistical support.

MARIIA, a short-term Chinese language student from Russia, expressed, "I'm very happy to be able to study at GCC. I hope to delve deeply into learning Chinese and successfully pass the HSK Level 5 exam to enhance my academic qualifications and language abilities." THI KIM PHUONG, an exchange student from Nguyen Tat Thanh University in Vietnam, also shared, "Today, my classmates and I have arrived at GCC. I hope to deeply study Chinese, improve my spoken language skills, and in the future be able to pursue a career related to office work. I hope to learn more about Chinese culture here."

In October 2024, our university successfully welcomed its inaugural intake of international students, and by January 2025, the first batch of international students successfully completed their studies. During their time here, they delved into their academic fields while also immersing themselves in the rich allure of Chinese culture. They witnessed the rapid advancements in Chinese technology and the dynamic changes in society. Along the way, they forged many friendships with Chinese students and created countless cherished memories.

The first impressions on the day of registration made the international students feel the warmth and hospitality of Guangzhou College of Commerce. With the successful conclusion of the registration work, the international students are about to embark on a new learning life. GCC has arranged a variety of enriching enrollment education activities for international students, including campus culture introductions, campus tours, safety education, language course tutoring, and traditional Chinese culture experience activities, to help them adapt to campus life as soon as possible. At the same time, the school will also organize cultural exchange activities to promote interaction and friendship between Chinese and foreign students.
